If I had to name one of the top trends right now in interiors, I would have to say it is the desire to echo nature. This can be with color or texture, with the simplicity of design, or all of the above.
Below are some prime examples of all 3 of these areas to get your creative juices flowing in the right direction!

We are seeing demand for colors in all shades of green, and Sherwin Williams Color of the Year, Evergreen Fog, is a perfect example, with watery blues also still very popular.

Whites are less stark and sterile, leaning more towards muted and organic.

Textures are trending with natural fibers, jute, caning, and handmade woven pieces. You will see it in light fixtures, rugs, and seating. Wood graining is moving toward character-rich species in lighter stains and weathered finishes.

And as far as overall design less is more, meaning simple slabs and shallow shakers, clean lines, and less contrast.

As you continue designing interiors in 2022, a safe bet would be to consider if your selections are in a color palette, material, or aesthetic that’s in harmony with nature.
