Do you find yourself drawn to the colorful interiors found in magazines but hesitant to take that step within your own house? So, instead, you stick with a neutral color scheme? While we agree that neutrals are timeless, they are how they sound: neutral! If you’re ready for a new adventure and something with a little more zest, embrace everything that color has to offer.

Let’s not forget that the advantages of adding color into your space are abundant too. It has the power of creating visual depth and interest. There are also plenty of theories that support the idea that color can lift your spirits or calm you down. Experts are even starting to question how the lack of color can negatively affect one’s sense of well-being! Naturally, we don’t want you to ban the neutral color palette from your home. There is always a time and place for natural hues.

While it’s definitely easier and less daunting to explore the “color of the season” within your wardrobe, this doesn’t mean that adding color to your space should be scary. It is possible to tastefully add color to a room without regret. If you’re just starting your color journey, pick one color that speaks to you and your personality. From there, find a design element to feature that color. One of our favorite ways to add color is using it on the cabinets!

Remember, if a bold and cheerful color doesn’t speak to you, subtle approaches can still speak volumes. Instead of how you might traditionally think of color, use the undertones of a hue to your advantage. Regardless of what you decide, make sure that the space makes you smile every time you see it.
